Whispering Oaks Pool Rules – MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

  1. NO members UNDER 14 can be in the pool area, without adult supervision present and/or lifeguard on deck. This is a very serious offense and will not be overlooked, regardless of their swimming capability! This includes the use of the sport court.
  2. Children of any age are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. 
  3. Lifeguards on duty are present to ensure the pool is to safe and that all members follow the pool guidelines. They are not responsible for the overall care of children. If your swimmer is not self-sufficient, they should NEVER be left unattended at any time. 
  4. Members should ALWAYS use their key fob to enter through the pool’s main entrance gate. 
  5. Members should NEVER let anyone that is not in their party into the pool area.  ALL members have a FOB and it must be used to enter the gate.
  6. FOB entries are monitored for safety purposes.
  7. NO members should ever enter through the tennis court to enter the swim area to swim.    
  8. Members may have up to five (5) guests. Guests Fees are $5.00 per person.
  9. NO GLASS OBJECTS or CHEWING GUM are allowed in/on pool grounds. 
  10. NO Styrofoam containers allowed in the pool.
  11. NO food allowed in the pool.
  12. NO RUNNING, horseplay or unsafe conduct outside or inside of the pool.
  13. Only soft or water-absorbing balls or frisbees may be thrown in the pool.
  14. NO foul or abusive language or gestures allowed.
  15. NO SMOKING/VAPING is allowed ANYWHERE in Pool fenced area or outside grounds. 
  16. NO pets allowed inside of pool fenced area.  
  17. NO hanging on lane lines or deep end rope.
  18. Appropriate swim wear worn at all times. This is a family facility. Swimming in “cut-off” shorts will not be allowed. 
  19. SLIDE - ONLY ONE person down the slide AND ON THE LADDER AT A TIME.  Must be legal height to be allowed on slide or able to swim across the deep end without assistance. Slide may be closed at the discretion of the lifeguard. 
  20. Lap Lanes - intended for laps and/or lessons. Swimmers should be mindful of lap swimmers and use the lane for entering and exiting the pool only when there are lap swimmers present.
  21. Baby Pool - This pool is for Children 6 & under. Any child using the baby pool must be closely monitored by an adult. Parents/Guardians are responsible for watching their children while they are in this pool.
  22. Do not swim if you have had diarrhea within the past 2 weeks.
  23. Changing of diapers within 6 feet of the pool is prohibited.
  24. When a lifeguard is on duty, he/she is the sole authority and should be shown respect. Their duty is to look after everyone's safety.
  25. Time outs or suspensions for unruly behavior may occur if a member or guest continues to cause a problem.
  26. WOSTC may limit the number of guests and/or deny use of the pool and pool grounds to those who abuse the facility or endanger the safety of others.
  27. If anyone should be deemed to be intoxicated they will be asked to leave immediately. If they refuse, the police will be called and they could be charged with “public intoxication” and/or “criminal trespass”. The lifeguard or adult board members will use their own discretion.
  28. All members/visitors using the grounds are responsible for their own trash and clean-up.
  29. The lifeguards will take a 10 minute break each hour. During this break, it is ADULT swim time only. 
  30. Adult swim can be prompted at any time, but normally starts at 10 minutes to hour and ends at top of hour. Pool clock is the official clock.  During Adult swim no one under 18 is allowed to be in pool. 
  31. If at any time the lifeguard feels they have a situation that they are uncomfortable with handling, a Board Member is to be called.  A list of members is located in the office.
